Content is King

Content is King

Today on Mike’s Marketing Minutes. We’re talking about why content is KING. Join me now.

Hi, it’s Mike here from M Business and Tradie Directory Australia. Today. I want to talk to you about content Is KING. Good old Bill  Gates said this. I think it was back in when was it? Back in 96, he said, “Content is King.”

What he was talking about was the future of the internet, the future of what was happening and pretty much what he was talking about and what a lot of people talk about when they say Content is King. They’re talking about good quality content, which helps with your ranking and helps with your engagement. It helps in all those sort of areas.

So that’s what I want to talk to you about today. It’s about your content.  Again, we covered it on Tuesday. It’s a little bit about content marketing. Today, I want to talk to you a bit more. But really, the first thing that good content does, especially on your website, is it helps you rank on Google.

If you can be an expert in your field and you’re giving good content on your website, then you’re getting good. You know, you might be writing blogs or you might be putting different things up. Google will rank you. Google will give you a better tick because you’ve got good content. And you know, each page needs to be full with information. The more information that Google can read then the better off you are.

So content is King, but with Google, it’s consistently putting content in.  The second thing when it comes to content is King, especially for Google, is that they want you to post on social media, not only anything but things that are relevant to the same industry that you’re in. These are things that go back to your website and content that is from experts of bigger companies as your self that you can reference yourself with.  Google will give you a bit of a tick with that.

So what’s crazy is that if you’re putting a blog up on your website and then you’re posting it across onto Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, you know, Google My Business is wonderful. Now Google my business allows you to post even video.

If you’re putting it onto LinkedIn, if you’re putting it onto Pinterest, any of those sorts of things, Google’s going to give it a tick. This is fantastic. So content is King, but you know what else? Content is also King on directories. So if say, for instance, I’m not talking about spending thousands of dollars on directories. I’m talking about putting your information on Yelp. Putting your information on certain directories that really can help with your content. I’ve got a great little trick. I did it for a digital agency for us. There was a certain critique and a certain area that I really wanted to get onto that first page. And so what I did was I found all the directories that were ranking on that page. I went to those directories and I submitted my details in there. And guess what? Content then allowed me because I was ranking with those people. They gave me a tick. I went under the first page of that. So that’s one thing.

The next thing is the reason why you give good content, especially on your website, especially on social media, especially on email marketing, as something else that we talked about the other day, even on live videos like this, is because it builds rapport with people that you may not be or have sold to. And why do you build rapport? You build rapport because building rapport builds trust. Now I sold a website, it was a little while ago and I didn’t even know the lady.

She rang me up and she said, “I saw you online. I saw different things. I know what you guys do and I liked different things.” Even before I even spoke to her, she knew about us because we gave good content and so giving good content allows you to build rapport. It allows you to build trust. And then it also allows you to keep in touch with your regular customers.  Often these are the people that watch your lives. They’re the people that watch or look at your posts because they’ve actually been one of your customers.

great things to do with your content

One of the great things to do, especially with content is to take pictures of their jobs and then actually tag them. If you’re friends with them and if it’s business, that’s great. If you do business to business, it’s awesome because you can tag that company into your post. Then everybody that or might be a friend or if it is for a friend, it’s not for a company, but if you can tag a person into a post, it means all their friends will see it. So if you were a painter and you tagged the person who you actually painted for and they make a comment, it means all their friends will see it. And again, good content. That’s what it’s all about.

So content is King. Thanks, Bill Gates. And we’ll talk to you guys later.

Content Marketing for building your online presence

Content Marketing for building your online presence

Content Marketing for building your online presence

Hi everybody, Mike here from M Business and Marketing Solutions. Today,  I want to talk to you about content marketing and pretty much what content marketing is.

What is Content Marketing?

It basically is creating, planning, and sharing content across platforms. That’s pretty much it.

Why, why, why would we want to do that?

This is to continually be in touch with our clients. You know, just like in the old days you would be, you know, you might want to use things like newspapers or you might want to use directories or whatever else to stay constantly in touch.

Most important thing about content marketing

Content marketing continually gives you the place in the marketplace as an expert. So when I talk about the four essential content marketing strategies:

This is not just posting for the sake of posting. I mean posting clear, concise content that is there to help your customers. These are posts that give value to your customers.

Be the expert, be the person that if they are in trouble, guess what, who are they going to come to? So putting content out there is to give good quality content to help customers.

How do you do this effectively?

First of all, you need to know who your ideal client is and what they’re wanting to be able to have. What sort of content is important to them in their everyday life, in regards to your products and services.? How are you going to do that?

So, as I said, putting posts up now, I don’t want you to invent the wheel. I really believe that all of this can be repurposed. And what I mean by that, like right now I am doing content marketing.

So what I will do with this recording is I will save it. I will then post it across to Instagram. I will then post it across into YouTube. I would then take it onto and I would download what I’ve said into an article.

Each thing that I’ve said, I can take little snippets of what I’ve said, like content marketing is, and I can put some blurb on as a post. So pretty much you don’t need to put that much effort into the information of what you’re wanting to do.

The most important thing you need to do is just be consistent with it. So, you know, the four areas are social media posts, videos, blogs, email campaigns. That’s basically it. So I can do a post now and then, and we can talk about content marketing.

I then might do a blog about the site. I then might do an email campaign with that information. There are email campaigns now that can bee automated from the content that you put on your website.

Create Templates

Another thing that you need to do to remain consistent and keep the content going is what’s called templates. You can create these templates on Canva.

So what I mean by that is that you can go onto Canva and you can create.  I post with the design already there, and then you might go and upload four content. I want to be able to do say five posts a week on a certain element. You might want to do four on certain like services or you know different areas which you service.

How to use CANVA for your templates.

So what you do is you to create maybe four or five elements in Canva. Each time you change the subject, you can easily change it but you can just keep the design. You just have to change the picture, the text the headings and you can then publish it away.

So that’s, that’s pretty much it. So you don’t want, you know, you don’t want this to be a major hassle in being able to get content through your social media profiles.

You are the expert.

You just need to use technology to be able to fuel the process. So let me go back over that again. So the full things are social media posts, videos, blogs, and email campaigns.

To make it easy, do one subject in a week. Like this week, I’m doing CONTENT MARKETING. You’re going to see another one on Thursday and I’m going to put some posts up about content marketing and how that’s really important. Then I’m going to be able to download all that information and put it into a blog. And then we’re going to upload it into YouTube for more videos. I’m going to send it over to Instagram. I’m going to paste it onto LinkedIn. I’m going to put it onto Twitter. I’m going to put things into Google My Business and away you go.

So yeah, that’s pretty much it, but the most important thing about content marketing is that you just keep doing it. You keep on being active. You keep on doing that. It’s the whole area of being consistent because that’s what content marketing is.

You being consistent in the marketplace. You standing above everybody else and saying, I’m the expert here when you’re ready to buy, come and see me simple as that. How have you enjoyed it? We’ll talk to you.
